I#8217;ve been thinking about actively joining this forum for Seneca some time now, but despite my efforts, I could not find a thread to introduce myself properly (maybe that#8217;d be an idea for newcomers such as myself?). I#8217;m not sure whether that#8217;s the argumentative ICS — rule here, and it feels slightly awkward, but I think if I want to chime in, I should have the courtesy to write a few words first, given that there already seems to be a close-knit online community of Cormackians assembled here. Currently, I#8217;m actually working on The Orchard Keeper , and I hope to have a rough draft of that chapter ready by the end of the year. I#8217;ve already worked on Child of God quite a bit, actually just taught it in a course of Durham University, mine. While rationally, I#8217;ll have to admit that other works of McCarthy are perhaps superior in scope, depth, ambition or aesthetic merit, I have a very soft spot for that novel in particular, and it#8217;s one of argumentative words ICS — Community School, my favorites.
